What is an EPD?

Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) form the data basis for ecological product assessments. They provide the basis for benchmarks at product and building level and can make purchasing decisions easier at both levels.

How do I get an EPD for my product?

Step: Collect data at the production plant and/or from suppliers.
Step: Calculate EPD yourself or have experienced consultants do it for you
Step: Have it verified by an appropriate inspecting authority

What costs can be expected?

There are three cost packages:

Expense within the company/association for data collection in the production plant
Creating a life cycle assessment (depending on the size of the project, from approx. 10,000 euros)
Verification (tiered fees depending on project size and company/association size)
