CEN TC Standards - European specific product category rules for construction products

The following EN standards are a mandatory basis for EPDs issued by Bau EPD GmbH, and the content of these standards serves as the basis for Bau EPD GmbH's product-specific PCRs, where these have already been created (see: Product-specific PCRs). In the event of revisions, new content will be promptly aligned with the corresponding PKRs. The c-PKR of CEN and the product-specific PKR of Bau EPD GmbH complement each other.

• EN 16485:2014 - Round and sawn timber - Environmental Product Declarations - Product category rules for wood and wood-based products for use in construction – Information: References still to EN 15804+A1- BAU EPD has PKR-B, revision is currently underway, publication expected in 2026
• EN 16757:2017 - Sustainability of construction works - Environmental product declarations - Product Category Rules for concrete and concrete elements – Information: References still to EN 15804+A1 - Bau EPD has PCR-B
• EN 16757:2022 - Sustainability of construction works - Environmental product declarations - Product Category Rules for concrete and concrete elements – Information: Reference to EN 15804+A2, BAU EPD has PCR-B, Information: There is a standardisation request from the EU Commission for a revision of the hEN standards for concrete in accordance with the Construction Products Regulation 2024, so the PCR should have been revised by the end of 2025. Obviously there will be an agreement with the European Commission that the planned new hEN Standard will show an Annex, which parts of EN 16757 apply/do not apply under the CPR.
• EN 16783: 2017 - Thermal insulation products – Product category rules (PCR) for factory made and in-situ formed products for preparing environmental product – Information: References still to EN 15804+A1
• EN 16783: 2024 - Thermal insulation products – Product category rules (PCR) for factory made and in-situ formed products for preparing environmental product – Information: Reference to EN 15804+A2-Bau EPD has PCR-B– Info: Work is already underway on a standardisation request for an hEN standard in accordance with the Construction Products Regulation 2024 - as soon as this is available, a full revision is to take place (probably 2025/26)
• EN 16908:2017 - Cement and building lime. Environmental product declarations. Product category rules complementary to EN 15804 – Information: References still to EN 15804+A1, Bau EPD has PCR-B, important for Bau EPD PCR for concrete products etc. - Currently under revision, Enquiry in June 2026
• EN 16908:2022+Amendment1 - Cement and building lime. Environmental product declarations. Product category rules complementary to EN 15804 – Information: Reference to EN 15804+A2, Bau EPD has PCR-B, important for Bau EPD PCR for concrete products etc.
• EN 17213:2018 - Windows and doors – Environmental Product Declarations – Product category rules for windows, roof windows and external pedestrian doorsets – Information: References still to EN 15804+A1, Bau EPD has PCR-B - The 2023 version has been withdrawn with 2025-08-01- new Version 205 should have passed Formal Vote
• EN 17213:2023+Amendment1 - Windows and doors – Environmental Product Declarations – Product category rules for windows, roof windows and external pedestrian doorsets – Information: Reference to EN 15804+A2 – BAU EPD has PCR-B - was obviously withdrawn with 2025-08-01, new Version 2025 should have passed Formal Vote recently
• EN 17328:2024 - Complementary product category rules for gypsum - based construction products) - Reference to EN 15804+A2 - Bau EPD has PKR-B
